Kayak pilgrim is a kayaker’s blog about travelling.
This blog started out in Danish as an account of a long journey in sea kayak I made along the west coast of Sweden in the summer of 2018. After the trip, I got the urge to continue writing about my kayaking experiences in general.
I have been writing since then, and lately I have felt inspired to reach further out and have decided to translate some of the more interesting posts to English.
The new posts I write will of course also be translated and posted at the same time as the Danish ones.
The blog is called Kayak Pilgrim because there is a quest in the longing to get out on the water – not just for external experiences, but very much a quest within myself.

The experiences in a sea kayak
I cover a lot of ground in the topics I write about: experiences on the water, handling the sea kayak, kayak rolls, navigation, camp life and much more, but my starting point will always be experiences.
For me, it’s the story, the narrative, that counts. Not the lecturing, but stories that pass on my experiences and those of my fellow travellers for inspiration, reflection and debate. Stories that show some of the many possibilities of experiences one has as a kayaker.
Pictures will be an essential part of the blog – and I will make every effort to ensure that they are good, inspiring pictures. As good as I can take them with the camera(s) I have at hand – and as good as the conditions allow.
Get out on the water in your kayak
My goal with the blog is that you, as a kayaker yourself, will want to get out at the sea – on trips in your sea kayak, short or long, but full of good experiences.
